[edit] Background
Appearing amid the post-hardcore scene of the 2000s, the Las Vegas quintet Escape the Fate prided itself, above all else, on an energetic and visceral live shows. The band was rumored to have come randomly together through MySpace when Ronnie and Max were looking for new band members after their prior group abruptly fell apart, however in a recent AP Magazine article, this myth was busted by Max. In a popular strip club, they soon found guitarist Bryan, who subsequently brought in Vegas transplant and guitarist Omar (ex-LoveHateHero) which awarded them the opportunity to open a show on the band's current headlining tour with Alkaline Trio and Reggie and the Full Effect. They then signed to Epitaph Records. Their debut five-song EP, There's No Sympathy for the Dead, appeared in May 2006. Tour dates through the summer followed including several dates on the Warped Tour.
On Smartpunk.com their EP received a rating of 4.98 out of 5 and they were the 4th ranked band on the entire website [1].
Escape the Fate's first full length album Dying Is Your Latest Fashion came out on September 26, 2006.
As of September 12 lead singer Ronnie Radke was reported to have left the band. The band had this to say on their myspace "As of today, Ronnie Radke is officially no longer a member of Escape the Fate. We feel that in order for the band to move forward, the only possible way, will have to be without him. The reasons as to why are very personal. Just know that we still love him and we wish him all the best of luck in the future." Soon after the band split, Ronnie Radke jokingly stated this in an interview in response to his abrupt departure from the band, "I was a great asset to the band; I once had sexual relations with a dog, and not many people can say that." Ronnie is back in the band.
However, on November 6 the band released a new blog on Myspace stating that Ronnie was back. The band will be on the 2007 Epitaph Tour in the Spring, with fellow Epitaph (label) bands The Matches, I Am Ghost, and The Higher.
