Escadrille

The Allen Eagle Escadrille is believed to be the largest High School Marching band in the world, with over 600 members currently enrolled. The Allen Eagle Escadrille is the combination of the Allen Eagle Band, Color Guard, and The "Tallenettes" Drill Team, grades 9-12. The Escadrille performs at Friday night football games for Allen High School. It takes 18 school buses and 3 trucks to transport the Escadrille. Also needed is the group of parent volunteers, the "Pit Bulls" with over 60 members to manage equipment and water. In 2006, the Escadrille traveled to Pasadena to perform in the Rose Bowl Parade. In 2003, they were awarded the Sudler Shield, an international award for marching band excellence, with only about 1-5 bands awarded every year out of the entire world. Anthony Gibson is the Director of Performing Arts, Charles Pennington Directs the Band, Lisa Smentek Directs the Tallenettes, and Whitney Wilson Directs the Color Guard. The Show for the 2006 season is a Circus theme, "The Greatest Show on Turf" and includes a giant smoke cannon constructed by the Pit Bulls for the show.
