Es Samu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Es Samu was a village in the West Bank.
It has been claimed that this was the Biblical Emmaus, but this is not universally accepted.
It was the scene of a serious clash between Israeli and Arab forces in 1966.
Shortly after the Six Day War it and two other neighbouring villages were forcibly depopulated by the Israelis, as they lay on an important highway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
