Ervin Hatibi

Ervin Hatibi (born 1974) is a modern Albanian poet. He was born in Tirana and studied French at the Foreign Language Institute there. He managed to publish a first volume of poetry during the dictatorship, but it was during the 1990s that his unconventional verse became popular, in particular with students in Tirana and elsewhere.

Among his verse collections are: Përditë shoh qiellin (I watch the sky every day), Tirana 1989; Poezi (Poetry), Tirana 1995; Pasqyra e lëndës (Table of contents), Tirana 2004. He is also the author of a book of essays (pop-esseistics), notably Republick of Albanania, Tirana 2005. Hatibi is also a figurative artist who has exhibited his works both in Albania and abroad.
