His Eminence Ersilio Cardinal Tonini 20 July 1914- is a Roman Catholic Cardinal-Priest and Archbishop Emeritus of Ravenna-Cervia.

He was ordained a Priest on 18 April 1937 He was appointed Bishop of Macerata-Tolentino by Pope Paul VI on 28 April 1969, holding that postion until 22 November 1975 when he was appointed to become Archbishop of Ravenna. He resigned his see on 27 October 1990.
He was created Cardinal-Priest of Santissimo Redentore a Valmelaina by Pope John Paul II on 26 November 1994 despite the fact that he was already 80 and thus ineligible to vote in any conclave.
