Dunkley recorded for Joel Gibson, also known as Joe Gibbs, in the late 1960s on the tracks "Please Stop Your Lying" (1967) and "Love Brother" (1968). "A Little Way Different" was also a popular song.[1]

In 1979 Dunkley got to Number 11 in the UK Singles Chart with "OK Fred", a cover version of a John Holt penned song. He also avoided the dreaded one-hit wonder tag, by securing a minor chart placing with the 1980 follow-up release "Sit Down And Cry".

Still recording, Dunkley released the albums Continually in 2000, and Please Stop Your Lying the following year.
