[edit] Audio is wrong

The audio pronunciation of Ernakulam is wrong. ള should be pronounced as a Retroflex lateral approximant. --Grammatical error 15:09, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Ya, you are right. I'm removing it. I'll upload another one later. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu_Joseph |TALK 02:52, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Can be merged with Kochi and Ernakulam_District

Ernakulam city is the same as Kochi city. Ernakulam city is now just a colloquial usage. The corporation is also known by the name Cochin City Corporation. We can merge some information from here to Kochi city article, and redirect this page to Ernakulam district page.

Though people in Kerala use Ernakulam to refer to Kochi city, Ernakulam is not another name for Kochi. As the starting sentence says: Ernakulam refers to the western part of the mainland of Kochi city in Kerala, India. Apart from Ernakulam, Kochi (corporataion limits) include places like Mattancherry, Willington and other islands.-- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK12:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Alright. Thanks for the clarification, Deepu.
