Ernesto Martens

Ernesto Martens Rebolledo (Tilapan, Veracruz, January 28, 1933). He is a Mexican chemical engineer, that has occupied noticeable business charges and was Secretary of Energy in the government of Vicente Fox.

Ernesto Martens is Chemical Engineer graduate of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, he has studies of postgraduate course in the Technological Institute of Karlsruhe in Germany and in the Harvard University.

It has occupied the direction of several noticeable Mexican businesses, the first Union Carbide, then Vitro Group and Cintra controller of the Aeroméxico and Mexicana de Aviación to the ones that achieved to become businesses profitable and to save from the bankruptcy.

On December 1, 2000, he was named Secretary of Energy by President Vicente Fox charge in which remained until 2003.
