Erin McKean

Erin McKean (born 1971) is an American lexicographer. She is the Editor in Chief of United States Dictionaries for Oxford University Press (one of the youngest editors in chief of one of the five major American dictionaries). Before joining Oxford University Press she worked on the Thorndike-Barnhart children's dictionaries for Scott Foresman. She lives in Chicago, Illinois, with her husband and son.
She is the editor of Verbatim: The Language Quarterly and the author of Weird and Wonderful Words, More Weird and Wonderful Words, Totally Weird and Wonderful Words, and That's Amore. She writes about dresses at her blog, A Dress A Day.
McKean's Law is one of the alternate names for Skitt's law: “Any correction of the speech or writing of others will contain at least one grammatical, spelling, or typographical error.”
