Erie Municipal Airport, formerly a private airport called Tri-County Airport, is operated by the town of Erie, Colorado. The airport is located in the southern part of Erie on the north side of Colorado State Highway 7 (Baseline Road) about 4 miles west of I-25. Adjacent to the airport is the Erie Airpark subdivision, a residential area designed for private-plane commuters.
This airport is at the southwestern corner of Weld County, bordering Boulder County to the west and the City and County of Broomfield to the south. This particular part of Broomfield was in Adams County prior to the creation of Broomfield County in 2001.
Erie Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport for both personal and business use. It has no scheduled passenger service. The main concrete runway is 4,700 feet long. This airport sees approximately 35,000 takeoffs and landings per year.
Erie Municipal Airport is home to Skyraider Aviation (http://www.skyraideraviation.com), Colorado's only Sport Pilot Flight Center. Skyraider Aviation provides Sport Pilot flight training and Light Sport Aircraft rentals and sales.
