Equatorium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An Equatorium (plural: Equatoria) was a medieval astrometic device used by astronomers and astrologers. It was invented in Andalusia (see Al-Andalus), probably in the early 11th century.
It is a mechanical device for finding the positions of the Moon, Sun, and planets without calculation, using a geometrical model to represent the celestial body's mean and anomalistic position.
