Equalizer is a monster truck that races on the USHRA circuit. The truck is driven by Mike Hawkins. It was the 1989 TNT Motorsports series champion under the control of former owner David Morris while driving for Gary Cook. In the early stages of the 1990 season, David left to spend time with his family as his daughter was to be born. Gary hired Mike Wine of the Jersey Outlaw team to drive for a show, and Gary drove a few shows until hiring eighteen year old Greg Holbrook. Greg regained the points lead back from Bigfoot after Dallas and held it until the second to last show at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Equalizer finished second in the standings. Greg left team Equalizer midway through the 1991 season, and David Morris came back. David actually drove John Moore's No Problem at a show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Gary sold the truck to David in 1995. David ran it for seven years, before selling it too Micheal Hawkins. Mike has been running it as Equalizer for four years, while campaigning his new PEI chassis truck since January. The original Equalizer is now currently Hot Tamale.
