Description

As for en:Image:Epica-vostok-grip-40kyr.png but the green lines mark the temporal extent of the so-called en:Holocene Climatic Optimum. Somewhat like the en:MWP or en:LIA the HCO appears to be a moveable feast: more a convenient label for the warmest part of individual records than a global phenomenon.

The downwards blip in the GRIP core (and the contemporaneous upwards blip in the Vostok core) approximately 8 kyr ago is the "8.2 kyr event" probably associated with the draining of en:Lake Agassiz.
