Epistrophy

Epistrophy is a jazz standard composed by Thelonious Monk and Kenny Clarke in 1942.

Its 'A' section is based on a pattern of alternating chords a semitone apart. As such it is far removed from most of the jazz compositions of its day, even those composed by other Bebop musicians.
