[edit] Plot
[edit] Maxxie and Anwar
Maxxie and Anwar are still at odds in that Anwar has still not told his parents that Maxxie is gay because homosexuality is condemned by Islamic law. Anwar's decision not to tell his parents about Maxxie's sexuality is constantly brought back to him, first by Maxxie demanding that Anwar tell his parents, and by Anwar's father asking where Maxxie is as he knows that they are best friends.
At Anwar's birthday party, he and Maxxie tell Anwar's father that Maxxie is gay. He tells Maxxie that he has enough faith and belief in God that when the time comes he expects that God will reveal to him the many things he does not understand or even thinks is wrong, and thus he does not judge Maxxie and invites him into the party with warmth.
[edit] Cassie and Sid
Sid begins to write a letter to Cassie in order to explain how he has come to feel about her and ends it with “I love you”. Realising this, he runs out of his house, in his hurry putting on odd shoes and socks and Bermuda shorts. We then see Cassie write Sid a letter explaining to him that she is leaving for Scotland and that she does not want to see him again. She and her bulimic companion in the mental hospital decide to break out. Seconds later, Sid arrives at the mental hospital and fairly unsuccessfully tries to explain to a nurse that he has to see someone. Mistaking his odd appearance and awkward demeanour as evidence for a mental disorder, the nurse has Sid locked in a padded cell.
Tony rescues Sid from his cell and helps him find Cassie, having told Sid that she has broken out of the hospital. They get into Sid's dad's car, which Tony has stolen, and travel to Anwar's party. Before Sid gets out to look for Cassie at the party, Tony gives him her letter, which he took from Sid's room. On entering the party, Sid gets attacked in a fight, and so retreats to the toilet to read his letter. Outside, Tony spots Cassie and informs her that Sid is looking for her. She tells Tony to say goodbye to Sid, and even as he refuses she walks away.
[edit] Tony and Michelle
We see Tony reminiscing of his time with Michelle, videos of whom he watches in his room. Tony is visibly upset the situation and rings Michelle, whose pre-recorded voicemail message tells him to 'fuck off'. His message paints a picture of a reformed and remorseful Tony. It is clear that Michelle still has feelings for Tony as she visits Effy, whose parents have placed her in a private school in an attempt to reform her behaviour. Effy remains silent as Michelle tells her that Tony has hurt her.
Jal and Kenneth's relationship progresses while Michelle is upset about being alone without Tony. She leaves for the toilet, where she spends the rest of the evening crying. After Tony rescues Sid, he takes him back to the stolen car, in which he has brought Effy since he feels he needs to look after her. When Sid goes to find Cassie, Tony remains inside the car with Effy, who repeatedly calls him a 'wanker' for treating Michelle badly and not trying to gain her back. After giving Cassie Sid's letter, Tony rings Michelle. He tells her that he is truly sorry at what he has done, telling Michelle what she had longed to hear: that he loves her. At this point a coach collides with Tony, most likely killing him. Effy screams as Michelle screams down the phone.
[edit] Chris and Angie
Angie's fiancé, Merve, turns up unexpectedly returning from a field trip to Alaska while Chris is undressed in her house. This leaves Chris and Angie's fledgling relationship in the lurch while Angie decides what she wants to do. Upset, and having been told to leave by Merve, Chris breaks into Angie's flat and looks through her photo albums. He finds a video of Merve which leads him to believe that the fiancé is homosexual, and, while there, he steals Angie's enagagement ring. The two then arrive and ask him to leave.
Chris later goes to Anwar's party. Merv follows him there to reclaim the ring, accompanied by 2 muscle-bound men to intimidate him. Angie bursts in and stops the fighting. She convinces Chris to give back the ring, but he drops it sin doing so and offers it to her while down on one knee, purposefully acting as though he is proposing. Anwar's uncle sees this and announces the happy occasion, on which Angie takes the ring and runs off, telling Merve that her relationship with him is over. Merve attacks Chris and a fight starts, but Chris remains happy for the rest of the night despite being harmed, confident and happy that Angie loves him.
[edit] Conclusion
Two men start walking in and various characters began to spontaneously sing a cover of "Wild World" by Cat Stevens. Primarily led by Sid, Tony's bleeding unconscious body also sings, as did Chris, Angie and a bus driver. After the song ends, Sid sits on a bench next to Cassie overlooking Bristol with the moon high in the sky and they hold hands, suggesting that they do get together after all. However, Tony is left being cradled in a weeping Effy's arms with blood coming from his mouth, suggesting serious internal bleeding. The show thus ends on a cliffhanger with the audience not knowing whether Tony lives or dies.
