The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles is a community of 85,000 Episcopalians in 147 congregations, 39 schools, and 18 major institutions, spanning all of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, and part of Riverside County.

One of 113 dioceses in the national Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA), the Diocese of Los Angeles was established in 1895 by vote of the General Convention of the national church. The Diocese's first Convention was held in 1896.

The Diocese is led by its Bishop, the Rt. Rev. J. Jon Bruno; its administrative and ministry hub is the Cathedral Center of St. Paul, located in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles.

The common ministry of the Diocese is guided by its Convention, the annual meeting of which is traditionally scheduled the first Friday and Saturday of December each year. Between annual meetings, the work of Convention is overseen by Diocesan Council, which meets usually the third Wednesday of each month at the Cathedral Center.
