[edit] Character history
When the castle of Renais is breached by the army of Grado, Prince Ephraim is fighting off the invading Grado soldiers on the front lines. Though most of the army of Renais has fallen to the forces of the Grado empire, Ephraim's small group of trusted knights, Cavaliers Kyle and Forde, and Paladin Orson, are still able to fight on, using guerrilla tactics to wear down the enemy. Though vastly outnumbered, they are able to capture the stronghold of Renvall using Ephraim's tactical brilliance. However, this was only meant to serve as a distraction. Enemy reinforcements arrive much faster than expected and begin to surround the castle. Ephraim, along with Forde and Kyle (Orson's whereabouts are unknown at this point) are able to flee the castle.
When Eirika enters Castle Renvall to search for her brother, she and Seth find Orson, who claims he just escaped the prison cell he was being held in, and that Ephraim is still being held within the castle. However, Seth is able to see through Orson's trap. It now becomes apparent that Orson has betrayed Renais and was the reason enemy troops were able to arrive before Ephraim's expectation when he had overtaken Renvall. Orson leaves now, as his part of the bargain with Grado was just to draw Eirika's soldiers into the castle. However, Eirika is able to overtake the stronghold and is reunited with her brother, who in reality was never taken prisoner. He had already escaped the castle and went south to strike against the emperor, though he returned when he finds out that Eirika was inside the castle.
Ephraim's story afterwards involves going straight into the heart of Grado, where he finds out the truth of Grado's war. He learns of the deceased Emperor Vigarde, and of his friend Lyon's part in the invasion of Renais, discovering that his former friend is not all he claims to be.
[edit] Solar Brace
Ephraim wears the Solar Brace, the twin bracelet of the Lunar Brace worn by his twin sister Eirika. After Chapter 16, using the Solar Brace will upgrade Ephraim from Lord to Great Lord.
[edit] Supports
Ephraim can have A support endings with Tana, Eirika, Myrrh, and L'Arachel but can also support with Kyle and Forde.
