Eoin Pattison (born 1979) is .
A native of Glasnevin, Dublin, Eoin Pattison attended Belvedere College in Dublin's north inner city, before going on to receive honours degrees from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He received degrees in Philosophy and Political Science, and Terrorism Studies respectively.
He served as assistant to the Irish Labour Party's spokesperson on economic affairs, Joan Burton TD, before moving to Kilkenny City, County Kilkenny to work in his uncle's constituency office. His uncle, Séamus Pattison TD is a former Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil, and has announced his intention to step down at the next election.
Eoin Pattison sought a nomination from the Labour Party to run at the next general election, but was surprisingly defeated for the party nomination in February 2006 by a local county councillor, Michael O'Brien. Newspapers reported that local party members had privately admitted to being unhappy at the prospect of the seat passing to "a third generation" of the Pattison family (James Pattison, the father of Séamus Pattison and grandfather of Eoin Pattison, had been a Labour TD for Kilkenny for many years between 1933 and 1957).
