Envie De Vivre

Envie De Vivre (English translation: "The Will To Live") was the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000, performed in French by Nathalie Sorce.
The song was performed tenth on the night (following Russia's Alsou with Solo and preceding Cyprus' Voice with Nomiza). At the close of voting, it had received 2 points, placing 24th in a field of 24.
Sorce sings about the will to live and the power that it has, although she points out the difficulties of living in a world without love.
Due to the expanded Contest, Belgium's poor recent record made them ineligible for participation in the 2001 Contest, but as a "passive country", they were invited to return for 2002. Thus, the song was succeeded as Belgian representative at the 2002 Contest by Sergio & The Ladies with Sister.
