Enticho (woreda)

Enticho is one of the 36 woredas in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mehakelegnaw Zone, Enticho is bordered on the south by Werie Lehe, on the southwest by Adwa, on the west by Mereb Lehe, on the north by Eritrea, and on the east by the Misraqawi (Eastern) Zone. Towns and cities in Enticho include Edaga Arbi, Enticho and Gerhusernay.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 176,190, of whom 91,953 were males and 84,237 were females; 12874 or 7.31% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 23.9%. With an estimated area of 1,302.50 square kilometers, Enticho has an estimated population density of 135.3 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 123.96.[1]
