Enterprise bliki

An Enterprise bliki is a bliki (a combination of the concepts of both Blogs and Wikis) that is purpose-made to be used by corporate organizations. Enterprise bliki software usually have features that are suited to usage by the closed groups of personnel of companies that manage information inside their organization.

A typical bliki that can be suited for enterprise usage should include the following features:

  • Security features for editing and publishing content
  • Categorizational features to organize content in hierarchical (tree) or other visualizations
  • Possibly allow only users of the closed group to have editing or even viewing features of the hosted content
  • Facilitate quick searching of all hosted content and files
  • Provide business dashboards to users for rapid viewing of changes
  • Facilitate integration (via standard XML, RSS based or other API contracts) with existing systems that are in use with the Enterprise already, for importing and exporting hosted content.

Typical Enterprise bliki service providers provide implementation services to aid in rapid adoption by their customers.
