- 1: [10S, 5S] and [90W, 80W]
- 2: [5S, Eq] and [90W, 80W]
- 3: [5S, 5N] and [90W, 150W]
- 4: [5S, 5N] and [150W, 160E]
- 3.4: [5S, 5N] and [170W, 120W]
Each index captures different properties; nino3.4 is probably most commonly used.
