[edit] Welcome and Hook 'em

Hi Enoch Lai. Welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions so far - especially those related to UT. Johntex 20:27, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] enoch, where are you from?

I really recognize your name. It seems to ring a bell. Check my user page and see if there are any places that we would have crossed paths. Leave a comment on my talk page if so! - Scm83x 28 June 2005 18:46 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:GracelandHome.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:GracelandHome.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 14:54, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hey Enoch, I see you were around a few days ago. I really appreciate the work you've done for Wikipedia and I hope you have time to be around more often. I just re-used your image of Dusty Mangum on a new article: 2004 Texas Longhorn football team. We also have 2006 Texas Longhorn football team, and you may be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject University of Texas at Austin as well as Wikipedia:WikiProject College football. Take care, Johntex\talk 01:26, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Uh, oh, I see you relabled the picture of Dusty Mangum in the Arkansas game as 2003. Somehow I thought it was 2004. I have put it on top of the 2004 Texas Longhorn football team article and submitted it to DYK for the main page. I guess I need to take it off. Do you have any picture from 2004 that would be appropriate to illustrate that year's football team? Thanks again, Johntex\talk 15:20, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
OK, thanks anyway! If we write an article on the 2003 team we will have your picture ready to go! Johntex\talk 15:25, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Me again - sorry, one more request. Since you are uploading your pictures under a free license (which is awesome), would you consider uploading them to Wikipedia commons? This makes them available to all versions of Wikipedia. There are articles there for college football, UT, 2005 Football team, Hook and Horns, etc. Thanks again for uploading your great pictures! Johntex\talk 15:51, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi Enoch, that is great! We can always use more images. I see you added a Baylor pic for the 2006 page. Although I am fond of the UT band picture I put on Longhorn Band, it has always bugged me that the safety net from behind the goalposts is in the way. Yours is a better image so I am making the swap. Mine is availalbe on Commons, so I'll add a like to Commons as well. Thanks for the new pictures! Best, Johntex\talk 10:39, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New article

User:Mishatx just created World's Largest Texas Flag which uses one of your DKR pics. It has been nominated for DYK, so you might want to keep an eye out for your photo appearing on the main page. Johntex\talk 14:09, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Texas! Amazing finish to the game at Nebraska, and the new article hit the Main Page at the same time. Johntex\talk 20:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pluckers

A tag has been placed on Pluckers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Missvain 03:35, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
