ENom

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The correct title of this article is eNom. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

eNom is a domain name registration and services technology company founded in 1997 in Redmond, WA, is the second largest registrar of domain names, and manages 5.5 million domain names according to ICANN statistics website.

eNom [1] claims to have a "zero tolerance spam policy", however a search for eNom on the public newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.email shows that there are many complaints levied against them for ignoring complaints of abuse caused by their customers.

July, 2006 eNom bought out competitor BulkRegister[2]. In February 2007, eNom dropped RegisterFly as a re-seller citing consumer complaints.[3]

[edit] BulkRegister

Prior to being bought out by eNom, BulkRegister was a member-supported service where clients were not re-sellers, but companies large enough to pay an annual membership fee to acquire low registration fees on their domain name registrations, due to the volume they potentially register.

eNom maintains BulkRegister as a separate service[4].
