English Spurs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
English spurs are a small rounded spur used for casual riding. They are usually about 2 inches long from the back of your boot. Though they are not very good for racing, they are perfect for just riding around. Many people use them for trail riding.
A spur is used by lightly digging it into a horses side. This will most commonly result in the speeding up of your horse. Many horses will often spook when being ridden with spurs and will run off or buck. Spurs are used alot in training a young horse. It is also used in schooling a stubborn horse. Spurs can help a horse recognise leg signals while in training.
