Engage (visual arts)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Engage is the national association for gallery education in the United Kingdom. The organisation promotes access to, enjoyment and understanding of the visual arts through 'gallery education', projects and programmes which help schoolchildren and the wider community become confident in their understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts and galleries.

It is organised as a professional membership organisation, constituted as a company limited by guarantee with charitable registration and is governed by a Board and a Council elected by the membership.

The funding of the organisation comes from various lottery and charitable funds, namely: the Arts Councils of England, Scotland and Wales, the Baring and Esmée Fairbairn Foundations, the Carnegie Trust, and the European Commission.
