Enda Marren

Enda Marren was born c. 1935 in the parish of Killasser, near Swinford, County Mayo, and was educated in Rockwell College, County Tipperary, Ireland, University College Dublin and the Incorporated Law Society at Blackall Place in Dublin. Married to Nuala Craig, he has five children and practices as a solicitor in Dublin.

Marren has been active in Irish politics for many years. A member of the Fine Gael National Executive, he is Chairperson of Fine Gael's trustees. He is also a Director of the Rehab Group, was a member of the first Irish Law Reform Commission. He helped to found the Irish Committee of UNICEF of which he was chairman for many years.

He is a former director of Aer Lingus, the national airline and Bord Fáilte, the Irish Tourist Board. He also served on the Garda Síochána Complaints Appeal Board.

In 2004 he was appointed to the Irish Council of State by the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.

He is related to Martin Enda Marren, but unlike Martin Marren, Enda is not a Protestant.
