[edit] Spoken article quality assessment

Version reviewed: 16:57, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Technical quality: Medium

  • This recording has been encoded to Ogg Vorbis at 96 kb/s, not 48 kb/s per recording guidelines. Reducing the "Quality" setting to minimum when encoding to Ogg Vorbis will usually achieve 48 kb/s. The result will be very little loss in voice quality, but a significant decrease in file size, which is important for ease of downloading and other reasons.
  • Minor rapid audio level variations, beginning in the last paragraph of section "Controlling changes".

Clarity: High

  • Sounds slightly rushed in places. Slightly longer pauses, particularly around section headings, might help this.

Accuracy: High

  • Section "Controlling changes": "A person willing to maintain pages" sounds like "A person willing to main pages".

Help with recording issues can be obtained under "Recording assistance" here.
Information on the assessment procedure can be found on the spoken article assessment page.
