[edit] Spoken article quality assessment

Technical quality: Medium
- This recording has been encoded to Ogg Vorbis at 96 kb/s, not 48 kb/s per recording guidelines. Reducing the "Quality" setting to minimum when encoding to Ogg Vorbis will usually achieve 48 kb/s. The result will be very little loss in voice quality, but a significant decrease in file size, which is important for ease of downloading and other reasons.
- Moderate breath-on-microphone noise throughout. See the recording guidelines for suggested solutions to this problem.
Clarity: High
Accuracy: High
- Section "Downtown Neighborhoods": "South Street Seaport Historical District east of Fulton and FDR" read as "South Street Seaport Historical District is south of Fulton Street along the FDR drive". While both descriptions seem to be more-or-less accurate, I'd suggest you edit the description in the text article and base your recording on that rather than putting the spoken version at variance with the text. This helps people who follow the text while they're listening, e.g. English language learners.
Help with recording issues can be obtained under "Recording assistance" here.
Information on the assessment procedure can be found on the spoken article assessment page.
