EMU-LMAO

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EMU-LMAO was an emulation news website primarily focused on a satirical take of other emulation news websites. Founded on February 10, 2001 the site would exist until somtime in early January 2003; when its then host Joffemon.com folded.

EMU-LMAO had a generic top-to-bottom news design, a simple graphic/image placement setup. EMU-LMAO went through an incredible four hosts in its 23 months of existence.

The site was made famous for having features like the short-lived Sk3n3 Toons. Which featured the infamous Golden LMAO KID , a short one-off episode comic about the frustrations of a kid looking for some Nintendo Gameboy Advance roms. The section also went on to feature the one-off episode Retrogamers! , a satirical take on the emulation news website Retrogames.

The site also featured the famous EMU-LMAO of the Month, where one emulation news poster would be roasted every month for appearing on its news section the most often within a one month period. Retrogames`s Prophet won it an incredible seven times.

EMU-LMAO went on to inspire such other satirical site's as EMU-ROTFLMAO, a site about satirising EMU-LMAO, and the fairly recent emu noobs.

Today, only an abandoned Tripod site of EMU-LMAO is all that is left of the site.
