"Empok Nor" is an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the twenty-fourth episode of the fifth season. It primarily takes place on the Cardassian space station Empok Nor, which has been abandoned for about a year.
[edit] Plot summary
One of the station's plasma distribution manifolds breaks down, and a team is sent to Deep Space Nine's abandoned sister space station, Empok Nor, to salvage components. The team consists of Chief O'Brien, Garak, Ensign Nog, two other engineers, and two security personnel. Garak is along to help with booby traps targeted at non-Cardassians.
There are no life signs, but in the infirmary they discover two recently deactivated stasis tubes and a third one with a dead Cardassian soldier—a member of the 3rd battalion, 1st order. Their shuttle then detaches from the station and explodes.
During the rest of the episode, they manage to eliminate the two soldiers, but Garak becomes extremely xenophobic and plays his own live game of kotra with the unwilling Chief O'Brien.
The two engineers and two security guards are killed, one by one.
