Talk:Emotional Deprivation Disorder
The authors discuss that EDD is not listed in the Diagnositic and Statistical Manual of mentla health disorders. Yet, they list conditions with similar symptoms as EDD. one of these is Reactive attachment disorder. How is RAD different than EDD?
Also, in discussing EDD, the authors offer a link to affirmation therapy as a treatment for EDD. They state in their opening paragraph that "All human beings have an intrinsic need for human love. With the exception of Divine intervention, it is essential to receive human love in order for an individual to feel good, worthwhile, and lovable—and have the capacity to love others. In essence, we must first be loved in order to love". I agree with the words they have used, but am curious to know if those are assumptions of the authors of if these are supported elsewhere in the literature on EDD and affirmation. Does anyone know the source of these sentences? Thank you Carly5005 19:46, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
