[edit] Work and Profile

Much of Pierson's earlier work was in television comedy, but with increasingly regular endeavours into more serious drama. Bloodlines, shown in January 2005 on ITV, was her first starring rôle; a serious and gritty thriller.

Her comedy work often involves playing young women who are sassy, confident, brash and ambitious, but often with a flaw. In I Saw You, her character Zoë is a man-eater yet appears lonely, whilst in Hotel Babylon Anna Thornton-Wilton is a socially ambitious yet insecure receptionist. In The Legend of the Tamworth Two Jenny West's relationship with the local police constable is ultimately destroyed by her professional journalistic ambition.

Though attractive, she has only ever done one 'glamour' photo-shoot (for Loaded in 1999). To this end, she is quoted as saying, "If I wanted to raise my profile, it would be best to fall out of a nightclub drunk, showing my knickers with something written on my bum." Her career now mainly involves parts in more serious drama.
