Emilio Pettoruti

Emilio Pettoruti (born 1892-10-01 in La Plata, died in 1971-10-16 in Paris) He was an Argentine painter, that caused a scandal with his avant-garde cubist exhibition in 1924 in Buenos Aires. He had been awarded in 1912, a traveling scholarship to Italy, where he met the Futurist artists, and also exhibited at Herwarth Walden’s ‘’Der Sturm Gallery’’ in Berlin. In Paris, he met Juan Gris, who influenced him to paint in a cubist style.
