EMD SW9

An EMD SW9 is a diesel switcher locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between December 1950 and December 1953. Power was provided by an EMD 567B 12-cylinder engine, producing 1200 horsepower (890 kW). In addition, 10 TR5 cow-calf paired sets were produced plus 2 TR5B calves for Union Railroad.
786 examples of this model were built for American railroads and 29 were built for Canadian railroads.
