EmCal stands for ElectroMagnetic CALorimeter.

It is a detector being built at CERN, in Geneva, that will be used in the context of the experiment ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment). The EmCal enhances ALICE's capabilities for jet quenching measurements.
