Wasn't that nice of Riana? Thanks, Riana! EMan32x 21:26, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hey EMan, thanks for the userpage design - I didn't notice it until now :) It's very cool! Editor at Large did a redesign as well, and Sceptre says he's working on one, so I don't know which one I'm gonna go with :) Maybe I should make it a competition or something! riana_dzasta 07:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- I like the 2 column format. I'd like something like that - easy on the eyes. But I want a bit of colour, too. Not as much as I had before *shudder* but yeah. I'll see if I can sort of meld together a bunch of designs. riana_dzasta 07:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

- Oooh, that's tricky! Much better than anything I could've thought up (you're good at this!) Don't worry about the Esperanza bar, it's OK. Is there any way of getting all the stuff beginning with the sentence "my mostly useless subpages" into a separate boxy thing? And putting it underneath my 'userboxes'? riana_dzasta 09:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage
OK. Anyone mind if I use Erich's layout with Will's colour scheme? The pinkblue and purple thing is outrageously girly, but I've been throwing people off, apparently, with the teal :p Also, are those boxes a fixed width and will I have to do something crazy to make them fit to the text, if I change it? riana_dzasta 00:34, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks!

Erich, thanks for all the help with the userpage - without even being asked :) I really love it! If you need any help with anything on the Wiki, lemme know and I'll try to give you a leg-up. Take care! riana_dzasta 10:38, 21 October 2006 (UTC) |
- Interesting. :p I have replaced {{bio-stub}} with {{mollusc-stub}}. I think it works a little better. :) riana_dzasta 06:33, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Easiest short-cut is WP:STUBS... come to think of it, that's going up as an important link on my spankin' new userpage. riana_dzasta 07:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm... not sure what you're talking about, but I'm sure it wasn't particularly bad :) riana_dzasta 08:03, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- I just viewed your contribs to make sure editing my userpage wasn't the only thing you were doing here :) Making sure I wasn't distracting you from real work! riana_dzasta 10:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Forgot my sig, and reread your question. To view any user's contributions, you can go Special:Contributions/Example User. riana_dzasta 10:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Uh... replacing 'Example User' with the username you're looking for, obviously. Alternatively, if you're on the user's page/talk page, there'll be a link underneath the search bar on your left (if you're using the monobook skin... don't know about the other skins)... which says 'User contributions'. riana_dzasta 10:20, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quick test# help
Hi - I recently reverted some vandalism on English Wikipedia, and went to warn/welcome the vandal. However, you beat me to it, and did so with great style. I was hoping you might be able to share some tips with me, as I am just beginning to learn how to do RC Patrol. Thanks! Erich Blume 19:30, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Erich - Apologies for stepping on your toes, if I did. There are three main areas that I use: Firstly, I add {{subst:welcome}} if the User Talk page has no entries on it. New users must be welcomed even if they are vandalising. One of them might read where the sandbox is and use it... Secondly, I try to add the date or the article(s) where I have found the vandalism. Thirdly, I have found some scripts to add to my edit page which gives me tabs for 'test', '1', '2', '3', '4', '5', etc. Clicking on one of these substs the appropriate test1, test2, etc template onto the user's talk page. I'll try to find these and let you know how to install. Good luck! and thanks for helping on this task. BW, Ian Cairns 19:37, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Looking further, this area has changed since I last checked. You may wish to check out entries in the Category:Wikipedia counter-vandalism tools. Good luck! Ian Cairns 19:42, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

- I guess I'm supposed to respond here, then? Or am I supposed to cross-post back to you? Anyway - ahah! A lot of these tools are more or less exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much. Erich Blume 19:55, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Script
I recieved your message. However, I tested the script with my VoA account and they worked fine, you may want to check your script. Sometimes doubling can also be caused by totally unrelated errors, as I have seen before with having 2 UTC dates at the top or double the tabs.Voice-of-All 21:59, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism?
What are you talking about, vandalism? I added a section, that's hardly vandalizing anything. 67.86.8.180 00:41, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
:) Welcome to the jungle. You'll get addicted to it, you'll see. riana_dzasta 00:02, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Summaries
I don't know why you decided to get involved with something that happened a month and a half ago, but fine. One, what you link to isn't official policy. "It is highly recommended that one fill in the edit summary field". Well it's highly recommened you blow me, but I don't demand you do it. Second, Trident13 is a hypocrite. He starts off by accusing me of doing something I didn't actually do (labelling a non-minor edit as minor, and something he never apoligizes for or even acknowledges) and also gets mad at me for making "grouchie" (which isn't a word) and disrespectful summaries while making a disrespectful edit summary towards me. Then he claims "but it is a rule here - no edit summaries = can be seen as vandalism, and reverted". Except that's not actually a rule- no edit summaries /= vandalism. You posted a help page, and your "rule" doesn't appear at WP:SR nor does the page you showed contain the "this is an official policy" tag. That means it's not an official policy, I don't have to do it and there's not a God-damn thing you can do about it. What Trident did was no "humble suggestion", and I do take offense to it. --TheTruthiness 04:26, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- You can find my response to this somewhat inflamatory comment on this page. I do sincerely apologize for picking at a sore wound. It wasn't my intention to cause that. Erich Blume 05:17, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- :o What a DICK. Some people need to get off their high horsies. riana_dzasta 08:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- (←) I think I understood your last sentence OK, but the rest was a bit of a blur :p Ah yes, time differences *slaps self* Hope the class goes OK... riana_dzasta 10:43, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- :D That sounds like fun. Considering the time difference between Adelaide and Santa Cruz is... what... 17.5 hours, or something like that... :o Anyway, I'm off to pick up my brother from somewhere (damn RL :p) so I'll talk to you later, OK? Take care, and good luck with whatever horrors await you :) riana_dzasta 10:51, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] VandalSniper
Thanks for applying to use VandalSniper. Unfortunately, I have the burden of telling you "sorry, not quite yet". You haven't been added to the approved users list yet because while your contributions, as you said, speak for themselves, you're still a bit new and we'd like to see some more great work from you first. Although the requirements to use VS are not set in stone, VandalSniper is a fast, fully-featured reversion tool with the potential for a sizable amount of edits in a short period of time, so this decision must sometimes be meticulous; I hope you understand. Your interest in VS is greatly appreciated, and you are invited to apply after you've made a few more edits. The reason you have not been approved yet says nothing about your value as a contributor – only that we'd like to see a little more of your work on Wikipedia before giving access to the tool.
Again, thanks so much for your interest. If you have any questions or concerns about this decision, feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to discuss it with you. Again, thank you for helping "keep Wikipedia clean". Good luck, and happy editing! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 06:11, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- To echo my talk page, please do apply again in a few more edits' time. You're doing great and, as my boilerplate template message said, it's nothing personal. Thanks for the polite follow-up, and let me know if you get any more absolutely over-the-top, uncalled-for personal attacks like the one above from TheTruthiness and I will be happy to help deal with it if you'd like (I've restrained myself from leaving a warning on his talk page but I'll keep an eye on him as he clearly has never heard of WP:BITE). Thanks again for the good edits and the polite demeanor! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 06:45, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Restoration Literature
Hey man. It was an accident. It wasn't vandalism. How can a real encyclopedia allow people to edit it? 144.126.40.188 01:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, good to know - apologies for not following WP:AGF. My response to this can be found on your (new) talk page.Erich Blume 02:20, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aloha
It was a great vacation, thanks! Glad to see you around the Wiki again, I hope you've been well? – riana_dzasta 02:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- That sounds like fun! Uni's going well, just started second year, which is a lot more relaxed than first year (so far... let's hope it stays that way). And the classes are narrowing down to specific subject areas, which means I can concentrate on chemistry and forget about maths and physics :) – riana_dzasta 13:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
