Emancipation (Malcolm in the Middle episode)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Emancipation is an episode of Malcolm in the Middle. It guest starred Chris Eigeman as Mr. Herkabe, Malcolm's new teacher.
[edit] Synopsis
The episode begins with Francis coming home after being emancipated from his family. Seconds after arrival, his father bursts out and chases him up a tree, resulting in Francis fighting back.
In the mean time, Malcolm's class has a new teacher, Mr. Herkabe. His teacher creates a ranking system in which the classmates are ranked in order by number by how well they perform in class. Seeing how the system is tearing the class apart, Malcolm plans with the class to do horribly on their test that day. When everyone except Malcolm gets an A, Malcolm begins performing exceptionally well and becomes beyond the head of the class. A mathematical rant in class leads to the rest of the classmates having a mental breakdown, thus breaking the system.
Back at home, Francis is looked down upon for abandoning his family. After much convincing, Lois finally agrees to talk to Francis, which leads to a huge argument, ending the episode.
[edit] Trivia
- A mistake in this episode is on the board with all the students' names. The numbers go down trivially (decreasing from 99.9999965% to 99.9999955%) between names, but halfway through it goes from the 99.9999% range to 98.9999%, which makes no sense because the jump wouldn't be that large.
