Elysian Charter School (also known as ECS), is a public charter school located in Hoboken, New Jersey. It was founded in 1997 by a group of Hoboken residents including parents and educators (the Mile Square Families). After a charter was granted in January 1997, the school opened in September 1997.[1]. It is based on the Bank Street College of Education philosophy of learning[2]. Elysian's charter has been renewed twice by the New Jersey Department of Education, first in 2001 and again in December, 2005.
