Elyse Sewell, (born June 10, 1982) is an American fashion model based in Hong Kong. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sewell obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico, majoring in Biology and Spanish. Her start in modeling came when she entered a reality television modeling competition, on the first season of UPN's show America's Next Top Model. Sewell was known on the show as the "edgy pre-med student". In 2005, one of her "confessional" clips from the show earned her 16th place on E!'s Most Outrageous TV Moments. She was also named the face of 2005 by Cover Magazine.
Sewell has since worked in fashion capitals Milan and Paris and as well as many other cities around the world, with the majority of her success has occurred while working in Hong Kong. She is a popular blogger, and has published a book on her modeling experience.

Since the show, Sewell has pursued and excelled in her modeling career. She signed with Wilhelmina Models in the US, Q5 models in Portland, Oregon, Elite Models in Chile, Studio KLRP in Paris, M4 models in Hamburg and Dreamodels Workshop in Hong Kong.
She has appeared on the cover of: Harper's Bazaar, Women's Wear Daily, Steppin' Out and Sisters Magazine.
Her modeling credits include: Just Jewelry, Chow Sang Sang, Fendi, Logitech, I.S.O, Motorola, Dao, iMaroon, Flair by Joc brand, Paule Ka, DTC Diamonds , Staccato Shoes, Vidal Sassoon, Maevon makeup, Azona, Giordano, Nail Nail, Chanel and Sa Sa Cosmetics.
Sewell has also modeled or appeared in many magazines such as: Esquire, HIM, 3 Weekly, WWD magazine, Jessica CODE magazine, Taxi magazine, Stuff magazine, Cosmo Bride Magazine, Tea Magazine, Cover magazine and Talkies Magazine. She is also the regular model for Mingpao Newspaper clothing spreads.
Her runway shows include Hermès, Dupre Santabarbara (also couture), Louis Verdad, Naqada, J Maskrey, Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, Ada Wong, Fendi, Patrizia Pene, Dior and Escada Sport.
Sewell works in both high end fashion and commercial modeling, and has appeared in various commercials in Hong Kong.

Beauty and the Biz was released mid-January in 2006. Sewell appeared in multiple book signings across China, which is currently the only country in which the book is sold in stores.[citation needed] The book is based in part on her LiveJournal weblog, in which she documents her travels and life while working as a model. Her LiveJournal, which is read by thousands of people,[1] has been in the top 20 of popular LiveJournal accounts.[2]
Sewell also has a column in Taxi Magazine.[citation needed]
