Elvis Presley is the self-titled debut album from Elvis Presley, released in March 1956. On November 21, 1955, RCA bought Presley's contract from Sun Records for $35,000, thanks to RCA executive Steve Sholes. Presley and rock and roll were still untested properties in the music business, but this album proved the selling power of both. It was the first rock album to hit number one and RCA's first million selling pop album. In 2003, the album was ranked number 55 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The cover is ranked number 40 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 greatest album covers. The photograph was taken at the Fort Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa, Florida on January 31, 1955. The cover design was borrowed by The Clash on the cover of their 1979 album London Calling, which is number 39 on the list. Another cover homage appeared on k. d. lang's 2006 album Reintarnation.

Five songs were taken from the Sun Studios tapes, which had moved with Elvis to RCA. While Elvis had his first nationwide hit, with "Heartbreak Hotel" climbing the charts since January before, this song is not present on this album since the record label thought including it would hinder the single's sales.

The album was released on CD in an expanded edition in 1999, and again in 2005; a box set was released on the Follow That Dream collectors label as a two-disc set.
