[edit] Background

Eltharion is one of the mightest hero in the High Elf army along with the likes of Teclis, Tyrion and the Dragon Prince Imrik. He is a skilled warrior and general who is only second to the great Tyrion himself in the High Elf army. He is the only general to led a successful raid against the Dark Elves in their homeland Naggaroth.

[edit] The Goblin Invasion

During the raid on Naggaroth he was stabbed with a poisoned blade by a Witch Elf. As he lay dying he was visited by the apparition of his dead father who borne him a dread news. Grom the Paunch, the infamous goblin warlord from Misty Mountains has landed on Ulthuan itself. The obese goblin warlord was leading a huge greenskin army to attack his homecity, Tor Yvresse. Many elves, including most of his family, had been slaughtered during the advance of the greenskin horde. With sheer will-power, Eltharion dragged himself from the brink of death and flew back to Tor Yvresse on his griffon, Stormwing.

In Tor Yvresse, the army of Grom had reached the outskirts of the city and laid siege to it. During the siege, the Warden of Tor Yvresse was challenged by the chief shaman of the goblin horde and was killed in the ensuing magical duel. Just as the city walls were breached Eltharion reached the city. The goblins were swarming into the city in a green tide and were threatening to overwhelm the beleaguered defenders. Eltharion rallied the defenders and fought back with an unsurpassed ferocity born out of grief and hatred. He fought and killed the goblin shaman who had defeated the Warden of the city. With his army destroyed by the counter-attack of the elves, Grom the Paunch disappeared and was never heard again. In the aftermath of this victory, Eltharion was appointed as the new Warden of Tor Yvresse. Due to the loss almost his entire family and the devastation of his ancestral lands, Eltharion is came to be known as The Grim, and has an extreme hatred for the goblin race.

[edit] Defeat by the Malekith the Witch King

Many years after the battle at Tor Yresse Malekith led a Dark Elf invasion on Ulthuan to reclaim his old domain at the Shadow Lands. When he heard of the news of the invasion, Eltharion eagerly flew north on his griffon to the ancient ruins of Anlec where the Dark Elves were amassing their armies despite warnings by Tyrion. There, he challenged Malekith into a martial combat but instead was defeated by the Witch King with his sorcery. He was tortured by the Dark Elves after his capture and refusal to swear allegiance to the Witch King. He was returned back to Lothern blinded and broken as a warning by the Witch King.

[edit] Blade Reforged

Soon after his defeat by the Witch King, he was sent to the Tower of Hoeth to recuperate. The master of Hoeth, Belannaer, trained him in the ways of combat of the Swordmasters of Hoeth. Eltharion was a skilled student and he learned the art of Swordmasters quickly. In time, Eltharion recovered his wounds and even became a match for the master himself. However, his mental wounds remain unhealed. Many months later, Eltharion was elected by Belannaer to command the Swordmasters in order to aid the Handmaidens in their duty as guards to the Everqueen just as Malekith's invasion threatened her forest domain. He once again faced Malekith in battle and this time managed to wound the Witch King. Eltharion now seeks to destroy Malekith and intends to once again lead an army to bring the fight to Naggaroth.
