Elsinby

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elsinby is the fictional Yorkshire rural seaside town that is the setting for the British television series The Royal. The fictional "St Aidan's Royal Free Hospital" is situated on the seafront in the town.

Elsinby is said to be near the real towns of Whitby and Scarborough and close to the fictional village of Aidensfield that is the setting for the television series Heartbeat.

Scarborough is used for outdoor scenes of the hospital and seafront of Elsinby, while any scenes of the town are filmed in the old part of Bridlington.
