upon charges of publishing a story about TNI troops ambushing a bus. The incident in question occurred August 31, 2002 when a bus carrying employees and family from the Freeport International school was attacked. Three teachers (including two Americans) were killed, 14 others were injured. Local statements and FBI investigations in 2003 suggest a likelihood that the TNI or Kopassus (elite troops) were responsible. But, later in January 2006, both FBI and Indonesian Police found that ambush was conducted by Antonius Wamang's elements of Free Papua Movement (OPM), It was conducted in order to make TNI as a scapegoat, and later made an international attention over this case.[citation needed]The evidence found by FBI and Indonesian Police led to the arrests and convictions of eight people.
