Elsa Osorio is an Argentine author who was born in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires in 1953.

After having spent twelve years living in Madrid, she currently lives in both cities from time to time. She has published a variety of books and has equally produced film and television scripts throughout her career.

Notably, she has written Ritos Privados/Private Rites (1982), Beatriz Guido. Mentir la verdad/Beatriz Guido. Lying the truth and Cielo de Tango/Tango Heaven.

Elsa Osorio works actively in the field of human rights, a theme that dominates a lot of her novels. She has won awards from Amnesty International and has also won Argentina's principal literary award, the Premio Nacional de Literatura.
