Hello my name is Elliot and this is my page, this is my first time using this thing and i hope to continue its use in the future. Heres some stuff about me
My hobbies are, computers, economics and swimming. i spend a great deal of time looking at history and understanding things that happened before i was born, revolutions, wars and politics.
one of the main things I am interested in the comunist parties that have ruled and what has happend to them, i am espesially interested in the comunists in cambodia during the dark times of the 1970's and the comunist movements in china, vietnam and indonesia.
like i said before, i am interested in economics, i like to understand how countries make there income and how they deal with problems, one of my favorite countries is Singapore because in the 1800's it was known as a disese infested place filled with prostitutes and gangs later in the 1960's when it broke up with Malaysia because of problems with the malays and the chinese, they were a tiny country with absoulutly no defence against an attack, (esspessially one that could have come from malaysia). so they developed a drafting system so that every able bodied man over the age of 18 gets two years of army training, this i belive to be a smart idea which most likily saved singapore from an attack. Later singapore needed to think about there economy, singapore as we know is located on the tip of the peninsula of malaysia, which makes it a priceless port. so singapore developed itself as an international trading stop, which is now one of the busyiest ports on earth. but singapore could not just depend on one thing for there whole economy so the goverment developed new companyies made by singapore which could bring more capital to singapore. some of these companies are singapore airlines, singtel, and many more. all these companies are at the top of there game, all of them have been very successful in the past and will continue to be in the future, and all of these companies are inventitive (which some companies lack in). "with a strong nation a strong leader is required" this is such the case to which singapore has put its mind to, the first prime minister that singapore has had (he is also my favorite of all political figures)is Lee Kuan Yew, the guy that brought the boom and prosperity into singapore. it is with the smart decisions of singapore that has turned singapore into an internationally hub for all trade in the south eastern part of asia and it will contiue to prosper in the future.
