[edit] Neutral Point of View?

Is this article neutral? The fact that I even have to question this makes me feel like it's not. This is a problem.

What do you mean?????? Jane 26 December, 2006

[edit] Lord of the Rings audition video ?

I heard on one of the LORT DVDs, somewhere in the commentary by Peter Jackson, that Elijah Wood originally got the part because he sent in an audition video he made with some friends - is that video still around anywhere? It'd be funny to see, and if it's online, this article should link to it.

Celebopedia says, "Elijah Wood heard about the Lord of the Rings trilogy while filming The Faculty (1998). Immediately, he sensed that this was the chance of a lifetime. Director George Huang, a personal friend of Wood's, filmed his audition tape for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He shot the scene from different angles which were cut together for the video. They sent the video off to New Zealand for director Peter Jackson and a few months later, he got the part."

The Wikipedia article George Huang (director) mentions, "George shot Elijah Wood's audition tape that landed him the role of Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy."

[edit] About audition video

Hey you,

Elijah don't believe this video can be found in internet. Elijah don't give permission for to divulge this video.

[edit] The Audition Tape

Unfortunately, the audition video tape is the property of New Line and is not available for viewing, although Elijah Wood is quite proud of it. It was the one element that secured his role as Frodo Baggins. However, snippets of the video can be seen on the Fellowship of the Ring (FOTR EE) Extended Edition in the DVD features section about the casting. I do not believe Elijah Wood has control over the rights to this video. edwpat http://www.dancaster.com/ejw

Hey, I heard that Elijah has the control of the rights of the video, and he didn't gave permission to divulge it. But i'm not sure about this bacause many informations from internet aren't true. Liz
No, audition tapes belong to the production company and this one belongs to New Line. But even if it were Elijah's II'm sure he has a copy), he would most likely not have a problem with divulging its content. He was reading Tolkien in the Hollywood Hills wearing a rented custome. He has spoken many times about this video, as has Peter Jackson and other writers and cast members. It is a point of historic pride. edwpat http://www.dancaster.com/ejw
Ok, thank's for info! Liz

[edit] Recent Changes

I've changed some things in Elijah's article, like "Upcoming projects", "Movies in production" or "Previous collaborations".

[edit] About external links

I'd like to know who removed the link in "External links" section and why? I don't have Elijah fansite, but I am just curious. Liz Octorber 16

Liz, the external links were vaporized by several Wikipedians (Langoliers) and when I tried to restore mine (not a fansite either, but I was told it expressed creativity and thus was a no no), I was threatened with Wikipedian expulsion and oblivion. I gave up. This site belongs to the oligarchy and therein lies its chief flaw and downfall. It is what it is. user:edwpat:edwpat http://www.dancaster.com/ejw
This is sad :-( Liz

[edit] Roman Catholic category

Who added Wood to [[Category:Roman Catholic entertainers]]? Is there a citation for this? It's not mentioned anywhere else in the article. --Jrothwell (talk) 14:20, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Elijah has stated he is Roman Catholic, although he is quick to add that he's "Catholic Lite." edwpat

[edit] Latest changes

I really liked the latest changes in Elijah's article. Great job!!! Liz

[edit] Video clips

[edit] Young Star Awards

How many times Elijah was nominated for Young Star Awards? Five times or four times??? And how many times he won? Once or twice?

Making his film debut with a minor part in Back to the Future II (1989), Wood landed a succession of subsequent larger roles, and became a critically acclaimed child actor. His performance in The War gained him a nomination for a 'Young Star Award' (for which he was nominated five times, and won once), and Roger Ebert said in his review of the film that Elijah Wood has emerged, I believe, as the most talented actor in his age group, in Hollywood history.

Awards and nominations section:

I'm confused :) Jane 26 December, 2006

[edit] Lord of the Ring Before and After

I'm not too sure whether it is appropriate in Elijah's case to define things as during and after LOTR??? Discussion please. I know, he wouldn;t appreciate it, but within the context of the article it relegates most of his adult acting in relation to the trilogy. A bit biased. What is the thinking here, before I revert it back - someone talk me out of it or support the reversion. Thanks Ed Patterson http://www.dancaster.com/ejw edwpat

[edit] Music Executive

The label "music executive" has stood on Wikipedia for 8 months now (not my assertion); however when it was taken off recently, I did take humbrage; however, after checking, Elijah does not accede to this title, in fact, he finds it amusing - so I concede to his wishes. LIJPolice. edwpat

I agree! Jane-21

Thanks Jane. Ed Patterson http://www.dancaster.com/ejw edwpat

[edit] Filmography

The dates which his movies had been released are incorrect. Happy Feet was not released in 2005, as well as Sin City was not released in 2004. Almost all the dates are incorrect. Jane-21

That was probably my fault, because when the Wiki-Police tagged the filmography as ersazt because it was presented in ascending order, I undertook to reverse the order (which was a bit hair-raising). I inadvertantly mismatched some of the "Year" rows. I hope they're correct now. I will double check later. Ed Patterson LIJPolice. edwpat

Okay! I finished the correction!!! :)Jane-21

Thanks Jane-21 edwpat.

BTW Jane, did you see the little gift I received from the set of The Oxford Murders? http://www.dancaster.com/popgift.htm edwpat

Wow!!! Great!!!! Congratulations Ed! Jane-21
