[edit] 2006 season
Made one start for the Dayton Dragons while the Reds were on all star break and started a few games early in the season for the Louisville Bats before being called-up to Cincinnati Reds. On August 2nd, the 22-year-old Ramirez had a 4.22 ERA and at the time was the 3rd most conistant starting pitcher. What followed was one of Jerry Narron's most infamous debacles to date. On an early August night the Reds were in extra innings with the Arizona Diamondbacks when Jerry Narron used Ramirez in relief. He pitched an inning and got the loss late that night. The very next day Elizardo Ramirez was starting the following game. He pitched poorly and was demoted to AAA shortly after the game.
