Elizabeth High School (New Jersey)

Elizabeth High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, as part of the Elizabeth Public Schools. With approximately 5,290 students, it is the largest high school in New Jersey, and one of the largest single district high schools in the country.

Elizabeth High School is comprised of the following 30 houses, plus an administration building and sports center:
Peter B. Gold Administration Building
Dunn Sports Center
Jefferson House
Dwyer House
Halsey House
Edison House
Aboff House
GECO Academy
Lower Academy
Dwyer House, Halsey House, the Gold Administration Building, and the Dunn Sports Center share one large building, forming the Main Complex of Elizabeth High School. Jefferson House, Aboff House, Edison House, and the Upper and Lower Academies are each located in separate buildings within two miles of the Main Complex.
Williams Field, which holds the football field and outdoor track, is adjacent to Edison House.
[edit] Vocational Programs
Elizabeth High School's vocational programs are located in Edison and Aboff Houses. Subjects range a wide variety of vocations including nursing, computer networking, automotive repair (with a complete automotive repair shop), electronics, robotics, and a fully functional ShopRite supermarket.
[edit] Upper and Lower Academies
The Upper and Lower Academies were added in the 2006-2007 school year. Admission to these academies is by application only, mostly by students who were formerly part of the district's "Gifted and Talented" program. The Lower Academy is home to freshmen and is situated in the former Terrence C. Reilly Middle School (#76), while the Upper Academy is located near the Goethals Bridge at the former William F. Halloran School (#22) and is home to sophmores, juniors, and seniors.

EHS has one principal, currently Ms. Anne Marie Remus. Each house has a House Director and an Assistant House Director who fill the roles of Principal and Vice Principal for each house.
