Dame Elisabeth Hoodless, DBE is the Executive Director of CSV (Community Service Volunteers), the UK’s largest volunteering and training charity.

When she first started at CVS around 1964, after graduating from LSE, she was the only paid member of staff - the director himself, Alec Dickson (1914-1994), and his wife, Maura, were volunteers.

As Executive Director she presides over an organisation of 780 employees and an annual turnover of £33 million. Since 1988 CSV's Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) has been involving older people with time to spare in their communities.
